Dontnod confirms another Life is Strange title is in development

Developer Dontnod has confirmed there’s a brand-new Life is Strange title in development. Details are currently scarce on the ground, but the studio said more news will be coming soon.

The title has been in development since the release of the boxed version of the original game last January, but it’s not yet clear whether it will be a direct sequel or another, separate story taking place in the same universe. We’ll have to wait a little longer before we hear more, though, as Dontnod has already told us the game won’t be appearing at this year’s E3.

"We can’t wait to tell you all about it when the time is right, but for now we are hard at work ensuring it is the very best game we can create," Dontnod wrote in a blog post.

"We’re really thankful for your patience thus far and ask for a bit more time. The new game will not be at E3 in June this year but we will be watching the show alongside you all and wish everyone good luck!"

Life is Strange originally launched in January 2015 as an episodic title, and was published by Square Enix. It’s not yet clear whether Square Enix will be publishing the next Life is Strange title as well, however. To date, Life is Strange has sold over 3m copies, although the vast majority of these are likely to be digital rather than physical.

"It’s an incredible achievement and one we could not have reached without you, our fantastic community! You helped spread positive words about our game and have continually kept the world interested in what happens next."
