EA announces new Origin publishers

EA has announced the addition of several new publishing partners for its PC digital distribution platform Origin.

Sega, Team 17, Rebellion, Kalypso and other undisclosed companies have agreed to bring their games to the growing platform as it continues in its effort to add third parties to a suddenly budding library.

The latest batch brings the number of publishers and developers on Origin to 35.

Sega will start with Total War Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai (now available for pre-order via Origin), with more PC titles set to arrive from the publisher in the coming months.

"We’re delighted to be partnering with Origin. The PC Market is continuing to grow and the prospect of offering the Total War franchise and the Sega range of PC titles to the Origin audience is very exciting," Sega UK Managing Director and PC Digital Distribution Director John Clark said in a statement.

Craig Rechenmacher, Vice President of Business Development and Marketing for Origin at EA, chimed in as well.

"By partnering with publishers like Sega, we’re able to bring even more of the industry’s best games to players on Origin. With 11 million registered users around the world, Origin is fast becoming the destination for consumers looking for fresh new content to play with their friends."
