ELEAGUE to host the next CS:GO major in January 2017

ELEAGUE, the eSports brand created by Turner Broadcasting and aired on US TV network TBS, will host the next CS:GO major.

Due to take place between January 22nd and 29th 2017, the ELEAGUE CS:GO major will be held at the ELEAGUE Arena within Turner Studios in Atlanta for the initial portion of the event, before moving to the Fox Theatre for the last three days of competition.

All of the event will be streamed on Twitch, as usual, but the grand final will also be aired on TBS in the States.

Sixteen of the best teams in the world will fight it out for a share of $1 million, and the title of world champions. Eight teams have already been decided based off their performance at the last major, while the final eight will have to make it through the qualifiers, which are due to take place at the ELEAGUE Arena between December 15th and 18th.

When we launched ELEAGUE, we set out to deliver a best-in-class experience for esports teams, players and fans and we’re grateful to the entire community for their ongoing support and engagement with our content,” said Lenny Daniels, President of Turner Sports. Less than one year since ELEAGUE’s debut, we’re thrilled to host the next CS:GO Major Championship and we will utilize all of our collective resources to help further elevate this prestigious event.”
