Elite: Dangerous Xbox One full release set for October

Elite: Dangerous is heading for full release on Xbox One next month, developer Frontier has announced.

In an AMA post on Reddit, studio CEO David Braben revealed the space sim will depart the console’s Xbox Game Preview Program for official release on October 6th.

Braben added that Ships and modules picked up through the preview build won’t carry over to the full version. Instead, players will receive their value in cash – to be deposited upon the game’s release. Preview players will get an exclusive mystery reward as well, according to the dev.

After a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2012, Elite: Dangerous debuted on Windows PC last December – with a Mac release following this past May. Cross platform enthusiasts should also be pleased to know Braben has confirmed account transfers across PC and Xbox One should be possible at some point along the line.

Frontier has previously stated that a PS4 version will be considered following Microsoft’s timed exclusivity deal.
