Elite is the future of connected entertainment

The man in charge of Modern Warfare 3 co-developer Beachhead has outlined his lofty ambitions for the pioneering new console service.

We believe this is the future of connected entertainment,” studio head Chacko Sonny told MCV. Our goal is simple: to enrich the multiplayer experience. Call of Duty has the most engaged multiplayer community on the planet.

We’ve been blown away by the passion, support and loyalty of the COD community. The fan response and engagement has been beyond our expectations and it’s unprecedented in the history of console gaming.”

We want our players to create a single profile and build a relationship with it that can evolve with each Call of Duty game.”

Sonny also confirmed that the Elite service will evolve hand-in-hand with future instalments to the series.

Elite has built from the ground-up to support Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3,” he added. While there are many other services that support a variety of games and franchises, those services are by definition broad and general.

Elite is able to do things other services can’t simply because it’s integrated right into the development of the game, so just imagine what we’ll be able to do in the future as we continue to work side-by-side with development teams.”
