UPDATE: GAME has listed the controller with a UK price tag of 130. A previous listing for 45 on GameStop has since been removed.

ORIGINAL STORY: Microsoft's swanky looking new joypad will come with a very swanky looking price.

The peripheral will cost $150 in the US, which in direct money equates to just shy of 100. How that will actually translate in its journey across the Atlantic remains to be seen.

However, it's not like the high-end peripheral market is a stranger to expensive tech, and history has proven that consumers will pay very top dollar for quality pro-level goods. The Elite controller certainly seems to deliver on that front.

Its components are interchangeable – in the video below we see both the stainless steel analogue sticks and d-pad being swapped for alternative versions, six of which will be included in the box. The four shoulder buttons can also be mapped to four brand new paddled on the lower rear of the pad, too.

There's also a hair trigger lock that appears to adjust the sensitivity of the triggers. In fact, sensitivity can be tweaked across the device. Buttons can even be reassigned and up to 225 controller profiles stored – two of which can be swapped between directly from the controller.
