ESL teams up with MCM Expo for UK tournaments

MCM has teamed up with the Electronic Sports League to launch what it hopes will be one of the biggest eSports events.

At this month’s MCM Expo, ESL will run League of Legends invitational and open tournaments in an area at the event, which takes place at London Excel. The area will be named ‘MCM eSports Powered by ESL’.

"With their vast competitive gaming expertise, ESL are the natural partners to help us grow the eSports side of our shows," said MCM co-organiser Paul Miley.

"There has been a massive boom in eSports in recent years, and this has been reflected in the soaring popularity of games tournaments at MCM London Comic Con and our other events. By teaming up with ELS UK, we will be able to offer our visitors an even richer eSports experience."

Chris Elt, sales director at ESL, added: It is truly exciting to be partnering with the MCM eSports team for MCM London Comic Con, they have an amazing audience that time after time proves they have a passion for eSports.

It’s a perfect commercial partnership for both parties, one that allows us to focus on our primary goal, the growth of eSports within the United Kingdom. It’s going to be a fantastic event, one that will create exciting opportunities in the future for the entirety of the UK.”
