Former staff of Call of Duty developer Infinity Ward have banded together to form Winterborn Games, a new RPG studio in Seattle, USA.
"We came together because of our passion for role-playing games and what they encompass," the website states. "At Winterborn, we want to make the kind of games that we grew up playing. Our goal is to always have a complete story that you can sit down and enjoy from beginning to end. We also feel that everyone should be able to play our games and do our best to take accessibility into account as we design them. We hope that you’ll join us on this adventure and thank you for visiting us."
Right now, the team consists of designer and programmer Kent Gambill, artist and designer Moudy Hamo, and programmer Jack Steele. Music and sound effects will be completed by Stephen Boilegh and social media and digital content by Trevor Osz.
Right now the team's focus is on a new tactical RPG based upon a table-top game created by the new studio head, Gambill. Set in an all-new fantasy world that Gambill devised himself as a teenager, the game is expected to come to both PC and consoles but the studio hasn't "decided on a release date yet".
"I've had a story I wanted to finish telling for 12 years," Gambill said (thanks, GI.biz). "Honestly, it's been a dream of mine to make the kind of game I grew up on and I love tactical RPGs.
"I have this epic story I started telling when I created my own tabletop game when I was 15 years old that lasted almost a decade that I never got to finish, and I always wanted to turn that universe into a video game."
