Facebook login coming to Blizzard games, with streaming to follow

Overwatch, Hearthstone and World of Warcraft players may soon be able to stream their gameplay directly to Facebook.

Blizzard has confirmed that as of later this month players will be able to log into PC versions of Battle.net titles using their Facebook login. However, logins are just the start – the publisher’s first move once this goes live will be to introduce live game streaming to the world’s biggest social media platform. Doing so will be as simple as pressing the ‘Go Live’ button.

Overwatch will likely be the first game to offer such support, although others such as Hearthstone, World of Warcraft, Diablo III and StarCraft 2 could follow in the future.

Blizzard games are best when played with friends, so it’s important to us to provide our players with features and services that make it easy and fun to share their experiences with each other,” Blizzard’s executive VP of corporate operations Gio Hunt said.

We’re working closely with Facebook on this integration for Overwatch, as well as our other games, and we look forward to sharing further details on our plans as development progresses.”
