Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn surpasses 2m registrations

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has registered more than 2m player accounts, Square Enix has announced.

Gematsu reports on the milestone, which was reached upon this week’s PlayStation 4 release of the MMO. Square announced in 2013 that PS3 players would gain full access to the PS4 version at no additional cost.

The revamped title launched last August on PC and PS3, following a beta that garnered more than 1m sign-ups.

It’s also worth noting that the 2m figure only includes registrations since the relaunch – meaning the publisher isn’t counting the player count of the original (and now defunct) FFXIV effort.
