Future’s digital magazine sales pass £5m in 11 months

Publishing giant Future is seemingly making good on its plans to successfully transition into the new digital world.

The company reports that it has sold over 5m worth of digital magazines for Apple devices in the last 11 months, or since the launch of Apple Newsstand.

T3 is the current biggest digital seller in the UK with MacLife claiming the US title. The UK accounts for 80 per cent of Future’s revenues.

It describes trading in its fourth quarter as encouraging in both the UK and the US” and expects its full-year numbers to be in line with expectations.

Visits to Future websites are up 50 per cent year-on-year at over 45 million unique users per month.

Future reports that its US operations continue to make strong progress and are close to returning to profitability, fulfilling a commitment we made a year ago to be profitable in the US in FY 2013”.
