Gameloft reports flat revenue for past quarter as key releases approach

Gameloft has reported modest financial results for its most recent quarter, though the company is positioning itself for a strong second half of 2014.

Games Industry reports on the publisher’s Q2 results, which show €55m million earned in revenue for the period – essentially the same as the same period in 2013. The company has thus far brought in €111.3m in 2014, up 2 per cent from the first half of 2013.

That said, the publisher has scheduled 12-15 game releases in 2014 and only 4 of those have launched. One of those released titles, Modern Warfare 5, just released earlier this month – while other pontetial revenue drivers like Brothers in Arms 3: Sons of War, Ice Age Adventures and Asphalt Overdrive are expected to arrive later this year.

Modern Warfare 5 in particular will have to endure at least one potential setback, as earlier this month winners of a contest allowing early access to the game cracked the pre-release build and leaked it onto several torrent sites.
