"A top-class event experience"

Early bird bookings for Gamescom 2019 - the world's "largest event for computer and video games, and Europe's largest business platform for the games industry" - is already up eight per cent on this time last year, boasting representatives from 28 different countries.

The expo also confirms that the number of "international top players and renowned companies from the computer and video game industry" is also up. Companies who have already secured their places include 2K Games, ak tronic, Amazon Games, astragon Entertainment, Bandai Namco Entertainment, Bethesda Softworks, Capcom, Deep Silver (Koch Media), Electronic Arts, Facebook, Giga-Byte Technology, Kalypso Media, Microsoft/Xbox, Nintendo, Square Enix, THQ Nordic, Turtle Entertainment/ESL, Ubisoft, Wargaming, and YouTube Gaming.

90 merchandisers have also confirmed attendance - up 24 per cent when compared to bookings at the same period last year - whilst the following hardware exhibitors have also announced they'll be at Gamescom 2019: Alternate, Caseking, DXRacer, Medion, Razer, and Trust Gaming.

"Gaming fans from all over the globe can look forward to an extensive gaming offer and a top-class event experience," said the expo organisers via a press release.

"At the Indie Arena Booth numerous exciting new launches and creative titles await the visitors - further offers of independent developers will perfectly enhance the offerings in the new Indie section," the press release adds. "And also the top theme eSports will be strongly represented at Gamescom 2019: Turtle Entertainment/ESL, one of the top players, is also already on board."

Gamescom opens on Tuesday, August 20th, 2019, and is jointly organised by Koelnmesse and game, the association for the German games industry. It offers a business area, entertainment area, developer conference Gevcom, Gamescom congress, and the Gamescom city festival. 1,037 exhibitors from 56 countries presented their products at Gamescom in 2018 which hosted around 370,000 visitors, including 31,200 trade visitors.
