Gamescom press conference next week

Bosses of industry event Gamescom will be holding a press conference at London’s Zetter Hotel next week.

Members of the press and the games industry are invited to attend the informal presentation and lunch which takes place on Thursday, April 7th at midday. Attendees are asked to turn up from 11.30am.

The conference will run through the current plans for games trade show Gamescom 2011 which kicks off in Cologne’s Koelnmesse on Wednesday, August 17th and runs to Sunday, August 21st.

Speakers at the event next week include Koelnmesse VP for IT and digital entertainment Kai Schmude, CEO of German Trade Association for Interactive Entertainment Software (BIU) Olaf Wolters and GDC Europe event director Frank Sliwka.

A statement read: Gamescom has developed into the true highlight in the international games industry calendar, and we’d be delighted if you could join us to find out about the latest news and development plans for this major games industry event.”

Last year Gamescom set new records with 505 exhibitors and over 254,000 visitors – including almost 19,000 members of the trade.
