Gears of War: Ultimate Edition now includes the entire series for free

Xbox One owners will get a bumper collection of games if they buy the Gears of War: Ultimate Edition later this month.

Microsoft has announced that console owners who buy the remastered title will now also get copies of Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3 and Gears of War: Judgement, as well as the original version of the first game.

They will all be made available via Xbox One’s new Xbox 360 backwards compatibility service. The game also includes early access to the Gears of War 4 multiplayer beta.

Those who don’t buy the game will still be able to buy the older titles separately, while those who own the games already on 360 will get access to them on Xbox One.

Gears of War Ultimate Edition is due out on August 28th. A PC version will arrive the same day, although obviously not with the same digital extras.
