Guitar Hero among a trio of Activision titles announced for Apple TV

Activision has pledged its early support to the new-look Apple TV with a trio of brands confirmed for the platform.

Guitar Hero Live, much like the upcoming iOS versions of Skylanders Superchargers and Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved, will be a universal app that is compatible with a range of Apple devices, including the new TV box.

The music game will be compatible with the same Bluetooth guitar being released for other platforms, no matter whether it’s being used with an Apple TV, iPhone or iPad.

We jumped at the opportunity to bring back Guitar Hero in a cool new way with Guitar Hero Live and have been energised by the response from fans who have had a chance to play it so far,” co-studio head and creative director Jamie Jackson said.

We can’t wait for the game to launch next month and think people are going to get a kick out of living their rock star fantasy on consoles, mobile devices and Apple TV this autumn.”

Also confirmed is Apple Pencil support for Geometry Wars on the new iPad Pro.

Skylanders Supercharged was last week confirmed as being compatible iPhone and iPod for the first time.
