Guitar Hero CEO: Music games market not saturated

Activision’s Dan Rosenwig has claimed the music games space is far from saturated, with a significant untapped audience yet to be introduced to the likes of Guitar Hero.

Speaking to CNBC, the Guitar Hero CEO said: We’re focused on providing value to the consumer, so I don’t think [the music games market’s] saturated.

If you actually look at the consoles that are our there on a global basis, less than 20 per cent actually have a music game. So there’s the next 80 per cent that we have the opportunity to go after.”

Activision is sure to welcome any new potential for its Hero franchise, having recently admitted that the music genre is down significantly”. NPD figures have also shown revenues for the sector have fallen sharply year-on-year.
