A patch designed to help alleviate the ongoing online problems faced by Halo: The Master Chief Collection will not arrive tomorrow as planned.

The game has since release battled with issues preventing players successfully finding matches online – issues that developer 343 has yet to fully resolve.

This week's content update, which was originally scheduled for release this Wednesday (November 19th) will now be releasing later this week to allow for additional fixes, as well as the completion of the testing and certification process,” the studio said.

This content update includes a variety of fixes across the title, including matchmaking performance issues, general UI and game stability improvements, as well as fixes for game-game specific issues. Thank you for your continued patience.”

In the meantime Xbox boss Phil Spencer has been apologising to fans directly on Twitter.

Sorry about the issues. I know our fans expect more from us. Team is making progress but I know it's still disappointing,” he said. We have to do better with the matchmaking, apologies for that. Team is working around the clock.”
