Heavyweights Campbell and Rissik boost Codemasters senior exec team

Respected industry veterans Roy Campbell and Jon Rissik have joined Codemasters.

Campbell has taken the role of senior VP of publishing. His job will see him look after Codemasters’ worldwide publishing business, directing the sales and distribution activities with the firm’s partners in the US, EMEA and other distributor territories.

Codemasters recently partnered with THQ for the North American market.

Campbell used to be MD at THQ for the UK, Ireland and Nordic, and has also held a variety of senior roles at companies such as Virgin Interactive and Infogrames. His career in games spans 25 years, and most recently he was VP of International for MTV Games, handling the release of Rock Band in international territories.

Codemasters has also hired Jon Rissik as VP of brand and marketing. His responsibilities involve strategic and operational marketing, including brand and product management, again on a wordwide basis.

Rissik has 20 years of experience managing entertainment properties and joins Codemasters from EA, where he was VP of product marketing. He spent ten years at EA, in positions including senior marketing director for Europe and marketing director for the US, which means he has deep understanding of EMEA and North American markets.

Both Jon and Roy are major hires for the company, bringing a wealth of international experience across their disciplines, and I am excited at the prospect of working with them both,” commented Codemasters CEO Rod Cousens. The market is ever evolving and Codemasters is a company with great energy and we continue to attract people with global calibre to drive us forward.”

Codemasters’ next big release is F1 2011, due on September 23rd for Xbox 360 and PS3. The publisher will launch a free-to-play F1 browser game in Q1 2012.
