Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number gets Q3 2014 launch window

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number will launch this year at some point between July and September, according to publisher Devolver Digital and developer Dennaton Games.

The game’s official Twitter account announces the sequel to 2012’s brutal 2D action game will land within the Q3 2014 period.

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number will launch in Q3 2014. Act accordingly,” the post reads. "[The sequel will include] new stuff, old stuff, weird stuff and violent stuff all converging with some surprises. Should be worth the wait.”

The original Hotline Miami released on PC in October 2012 and quickly garnered acclaim from press and player alike. The game was deemed a commercial success overall, despite having an interesting relationship with the piracy-inclined, and made it onto Mac, PS3, and PS Vita in early 2013.

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, which will jump a decade forward from its predecessor’s 80’s vibe, is currently pegged for PC, Mac, Linux, PS4, and Vita – though it isn’t clear yet if the game’s release on these platforms will be simultaneous or staggered.
