iPad 2 launches in US today

Apple’s iPad 2 has arrived on US shelves today, and gaming is already making its presence known on the platform.

The device was unveiled earlier this month and features a faster processor and HDMI output. It is also a third thinner than the original iPad.

To mark the iPad 2’s US debut, Electronic Arts has knocked up to 70 per cent off the price of all of its apps, from casual titles such as Scrabble and Monopoly to more traditional games like Dead Space and Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit.

The iPad 2 is due to arrive in the UK on March 25th – the same day as Nintendo 3DS.
