Jak and Daxter return this year

The lid has been lifted on the first full platform outing for Naughty Dog’s popular pairing Jak and Daxter for five years – Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier.

However, the popular duo are not lining up a next-gen debut, with the new title set to arrive on PSP and PS2 this autumn.

The game picks up from the narrative of 2004 release Jak 3 and sees our heroes fighting against the threat posed to their world by dark eco. The game features lots of new weapons and vehicles, and of course the series’ trademark humour.

The first game in the series was released on PS2 in 2001. Alongside two full-blooded sequels, the pair have also produced 2005’s Jak X: Combat Racing on PS2 and PSP title Daxter in 2006. In total the series has sold some 6m units in PAL territories.
