Just Flight becomes independent of Mastertronic

Simulation-focused publisher Just Flight has spread its wings.

The firm is now independent, having been part of the Mastertronic Group since 2005. It was founded in 1997.

According to publishing director Alex Ford, the company has the backing of a private investor.

This follows the news that Mastertronic was going into administration on Friday November 27th.

Becoming part of a bigger group after eight years was the right thing to do in 2005 and now, ten years later, regaining our independence is also the right move,” Alex Ford said.

Critically acclaimed releases like the Tornado and Canberra have shown that our flight development team has the skill to compete at the cutting edge of simulation development. Alongside our success in the virtual skies, Just Trains’ locomotives and routes are rightly acknowledged as best in class.

The last two years have been really hard for us all, given that the larger business we were part of was facing up to a transitioning games market. We have always believed in building the highest quality simulations and will now focus 100 per cent on that and that only. We want to thank all of our loyal partners and customers for supporting us in the past and we look forward to continuing to work and serve them both with our standards set high and true.”
