Kids’ TV show Knightmare to return

Enter, stranger!

A bygone favourite of children’s TV is to make a one-off return for YouTube’s Geek Week next month.

The Guardian reports that Knightmare, popular in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, is one of many popular shows and IPs that will make a temporary return.

It will be produced by original creator Tim Child and will feature Peep Show’s Isy Suttie (Dobby) and Harry Potter’s Jessie Cave (Lavender Brown) as well as the original Dungeon Master himself Treguard.

The show itself was popular not only for the fantastic Skyrim-esque Helmet of Justice and the glorious ineptitude of the blindfolded Dungeoneers but also for the at the time unique way in which it blended real-life actors with CGI environments.

Teams would have to guide their Dungeoneer by voice alone. Tasks would include passing environmental obstacles, defeating real-life opponents, solving puzzles, casting spells and hiding food in their knapsack to ensure they never run out of the all-important Life Force.
