Konami to shut down PES 2014 servers this November

The final whistle is about to blow for those still playing PES 2014 online.

Konami has announced that it will pull online support from the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 football game on November 17th, just more than two years after its initial release.

The move is part of an effort to double-down on its efforts on PS4 and Xbox One, it seems, with Konami saying it will focus the freed-up resources on last year’s PES 2015 and the upcoming PES 2016, which will also mark the franchise’s 20th anniversary.

PES 2016 is set for release next month on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Football fans will get an early taste of the game via a free demo set for launch tomorrow (August 13th).

PES 2014 is the headline name in a group of titles having their services being withdrawn over the next two months.

Konami will also remove 22 of its older iOS releases from Apple’s App Store from September 19th onwards.

Those who already own and have installed the games can continue to play, but they will be unable to purchase or re-download once removed.
