LA Noire’s McNamara’s next game is called ‘Whore of the Orient’

The name of the next game from LA Noire studio boss Brendan McNamara has been revealed, and it’s a striking one – Whore of the Orient.

And while McNamara’s Team Bondi studio is now closed, the game still looks set for a release at some point after the rights were acquired by filmmaker and Mad Max creator George Miller.

That’s according to Financial Review, which says Miller has finally succumb to the enticement of the games market and hopes to use the IP to effectively create a new title based heavily on his cult road movie IP.

The site adds that Miller has ditched an existing title that was in development based on upcoming animated movie Mad Max 4 – and due to be published by Warner – in favour of focusing on Whore Of The Orient.

As is perhaps understandable for a filmmaker, Miller is said to have been won over by Team Bondi’s revolutionary motion capture. Indeed, it was the unparalleled realism of LA Noire’s characters that set the game apart from others in the crowded games space.

Miller’s joint venture Kkennedy Miller Litchell Interactive will be helming the project. The studio is staffed mainly by the remnants of Krome’s Brisbane office, though Miller has also hired Team Bondi’s last standing warriors”.
