LEGO Star Wars tops charts for third week running

For the third week in a row, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens claims the top spot in the UK charts.

This is despite a 45 per cent dip in sales week-on-week. According to GfK, the only other LEGO title to spend more than three weeks at the head of the UK Top 40 was 2012’s LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, which managed a five week stint when it launched.

Amazon Prime Day caused a number of games to see sales spikes last week. Sony’s Uncharted 4 rose four places to No.2 with a 152 per cent boost to sales. Meanwhile, Grand Theft Auto V sales rose 91 per cent, while Fallout 4 rose ten places to No.10 with an 85 per cent rise.

Hardware bundles also led to sales spikes. Xbox One games Zoo Tycoon and Kinect Sports Rivals returned to the Top 40 – at No.11 and 12 respectively.

Meanwhile, new 3DS title Monster Hunter Generations debuted at second place.
