It's game, set and match as Mario Tennis Aces takes the No.1 spot in the weekly charts, lobbing itself to the top position ahead of God of War, which falls back to No.3, and fellow sports-'em-up FIFA 18, which holds in the No.2 position.
Mario Tennis Aces has received decent reviews, sitting on a 79 per cent rating on Opencritic, with many comparing the new entry into the Mario Tennis franchise as something more akin to a fighting game than a traditional tennis title, albeit one that has difficulty spikes that may frustrate some looking to roleplay as a plumber playing tennis.
It seems the reviews and the big M have brought punters in for a look, and we'll have to see how it fares in the next few weeks to see if word of mouth (and Tennis tournament Wimbledon) bring it more sales.
Elsewhere, Sony's Days of Play sale has come to an end, although three Sony published titles are still crowding into the Top Ten: God of War, Detroit: Become Human (No.4) and PlayStation VR Worlds (No.10).
Fallout 4 continues to do well out of promotional bundles that see both the Xbox One and PS4 family of consoles bundled up with a copy of the game, and the news of a new game in the franchise announced at E3, Fallout 76.
Elsewhere in the Top 40, the Flashback: Collectors Edition, a re-release of popular Amiga title Flashback celebrating its 25th anniversary, snags No.26 in the charts.
This week sees the release of Ubisoft's The Crew 2, and the Xbox One release of Nier Automata, both of which release on Tuesday. Crash Bandicoot N.Sane trilogy, which performed remarkably well upon its release on the PS4 last year is also coming to the Xbox, PC and Switch this Friday, which could see the title bounce back into the Top 40.
