Ben Bateman joins Green Man Gaming’s Playfire team
Online games retailer Green Man Gaming has appointed Ben Bateman as its new community development manager for Playfire.
Playfire is the online social community site for gamers that was acquired by Green Man Gaming back in 2012. Bateman will lead the next stages of development that the firm has planned for the site.
Bateman has previously held the same role at Codemasters and joins the Playfire team from Square Enix, where he worked as the firm’s central community manager.
Working on triple-A franchises like Final Fantasy and Tomb Raider has allowed me to acquire a wealth of experience and hone my skills in community management,” said Bateman.
I’m excited to bring these skills and experience to the Playfire community, with the commitment and backing of Green Man Gaming.”
Bateman has worked with both developers and publishers across the world and Green Man Gaming EVP Darren Cairns feels he is key to growing the Playfire service.
I’m delighted that someone as highly respected within the European gaming community as Ben has come to join us on our journey,” said Cairns.
Ben will help us define and develop the next stage in the evolution of Playfire, working closely with the community to ensure they are at the heart of the service at all times”.
