EA NAMES TOMKINS AS NEW MARKETING BOSS
Andy Tomkins has been promoted to marketing director for Northern Europe at Electronic Arts. His appointment follows the departure of Stuart Lang, who moved to EA’s US offices to become vice president of North American marketing.
Within the new role Tomkins will lead marketing in the UK, Ireland, Nordic countries, Russia, Czech, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland. He will report to Northern Europe vice president and general manager Keith Ramsdale.

Andy brings a wealth of experience and knowledge and he’ll play a vital role for us as we move into the next generation of gaming.”
Prior to his promotion, Tomkins was global advertising and media director for EA working from the firm’s Geneva office. His responsibilities included the management of advertising campaigns for Battlefield Bad Company 2, FIFA and the Need for Speed series.

Future restructures senior management team for film and games
The media giant has reshuffled the senior management team across its film and games division. Clair Porteous has been named deputy MD and will take overall responsibility for the film and games group. She will report to MD Nial Ferguson within the new role.
Lee Nutter has become head of games and will lead the development of the firm’s position within the UK games market. His responsibilities will focus on Future’s print games brands including PC Gamer, Official Xbox, Official PlayStation, Official Nintendo, Gamesmaster and Pokmon.
Further change sees Keith Walker become head of digital for Future’s film, games and technology group. He will oversee CVG and GamesRadar UK. Meanwhile Declan Gough will now head up the Edge brand within an expanded role as head of Future’s creative and design group.
These changes reflect the challenge of the evolving market and show our focus on digital growth whilst continuing to invest in our heritage print brands,” said Porteous.
Jagex appoints new director of advertising sales
Robert Mackenzie has been appointed director of advertising sales for the UK developer and publisher. Mackenzie will provide global leadership for Jagex’s commercial team and will report to chief marketing officer David Solari within the new role.
His responsibilities will include maximising advertising and sponsorship revenues across Jagex’s gaming properties.
I am thrilled to join Jagex and help drive forward the studio’s advertising efforts,” said Mackenzie.
Mackenzie has had previous stints at NBC Universal, Disney and BSkyB.
