Multiplay hires HMV and Ubisoft veterans

Andy Pinder has joined the eSports specialist as sales manager, whilst Josh Winward has also been appointed sales executive as the firm continues to expand its growing sales team.

With experience at High Street specialists GAME and HMV, Pinder will take responsibility of Multiplay’s tournament and event sponsorship, whilst also overseeing online advertising and sales for the Insomnia Gaming festival.

Winward’s appointment follows a previous stint at publisher Ubisoft as marketing executive. In his new role, Winward will be responsible for generating new business for Multiplay, whilst maintaining the firm’s existing relationships and managing a variety of events.

CCP games recruits Decker as SVP
Sean Decker has left EA to join developer CCP as senior vice president of product development. Decker’s appointment follows 12 years of service at EA, where he headed up the publisher’s free-to-play division whilst also working with both DICE and EA Los Angeles.

Decker’s new role at CCP will see him lead the company’s worldwide games development, whilst overseeing the developer’s studios in Reykjavik, Shanghai, Atlanta and Newcastle.

Sean’s extensive experience in the games industry will be extremely valuable for us as we enter the second decade of the EVE Universe,” said Hilmar Veigar Ptursson, CEO of CCP Games.

The next few years will be the most important in the company’s history, as we build on the launch of DUST 514, expand EVE Online, continue development of World of Darkness, and start our efforts in mobile gaming.”

MCV hires new staff writer
Greg Lockley has joined the MCV editorial team as staff writer. Lockley switches from sister title PCR having overseen the majority of the publication’s PC gaming content.

His appointment follows the departure of previous staff writer Billy Langsworthy, who has moved to MCV’s sister title ToyNews to take up the role of deputy editor.
