Assassin’s Creed is Ubisoft’s flagship IP and has sold 73m units worldwide since its debut in 2007.
Its popularity has seen the series turn into books and – coming in 2016 – a movie starring Michael Fassbender.
There are toys of the characters and entire clothing ranges based on the games.
This year marks a big moment for the stealth action franchise as there are two entirely new titles released.
The first is Assassin’s Creed Rogue, which was developed only for Xbox 360 and PS3.
But the main title is Assassin’s Creed Unity, a new-gen-only effort.
Set in Paris during the French Revolution, Unity launched with a few issues, which Ubisoft has worked hard to fix.
Despite early problems, the game’s visuals have been highly praised, and it sold more in its first week than its predecessor – Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.
