Today is the last day of news coverage at MCV for the year, and our last newsletter of the year.
We've reached the end of 2017. It's been a huge year for gaming, one that gave us Switch and Breath of the Wild; PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds; Horizon Zero Dawn; and lots and lots of debate about loot boxes. We loved it, not every minute of it admittedly, but from an industry point of view it's been a great year (just don't look beyond the games, it's scary out there).
That said, it's been a good year for MCV. We got a new website, a smarter and sleeker magazine, had a few staff changes along the way too - and we'd like to say a big thanks to everyone who contributed in any way to MCV over the last 12 months. We'd also like to say a big thanks to all our partners and sponsors across the year, we couldn't do it without you and we look forward to working with you again next year.
And next year is set to be bigger still, as we merge our gaming brands into a single powerhouse, which we're excited to be unveiling come the end of January.
We hope that all your own IRL loot boxes under the tree contain everything you wished for. Have a great Christmas, kick back and play some games, and we'll see you in the new year.
The MCV newsletter will return on the 2nd of January.
