Microsoft confirms Unity support for HoloLens

Unity developers will soon have the ability to build games for the HoloLens headset, Microsoft revealed earlier today at its Build developer conference.

In a post on Unity’s company blog, lead developer Scott Flynn states that both Personal and Pro editions of Unity will be updated with support for Hololens features including gesture and voice recognition, spatial mapping, as well as "the ability to anchor holographic objects to specific locations in the real world."

Microsoft is showcasing an early alpha version of the tools for attendees of its event this week, though no word on when Unity support will officially launch.

The company previously stated its considering Hololens support for Xbox One and Windows PC.
