Microsoft: Millions use Xbox Live social media

Microsoft has announced that millions of Xbox Live members have taken advantage of the social media features that were launched last week.

Company spokesperson David Dennis reported that at least 2 million users have logged into Facebook in the first week – a tenth of Xbox Live’s total userbase of 20 million members, according to CNET.

Approximately half a million Last.FM accounts were created within the first 24 hours after the update, with gamers streaming 120 million minutes of music over the course of the week.

While Dennis did not provide exact user figures for Twitter, he did claim the company has seen posts from nearly every market where we have Xbox Live”. Finally, he added that 1.7 million Xbox Live users had watched videos from the new Zune marketplace.
