MICROSOFT: Xbox 360 FINALLY gets web browser

After enduring years of consumers calling for such functionality, Microsoft is to finally bring Internet Explorer to Xbox 360.

And as you’d expect, it focuses heavily on Kinect integration, with full search functionality controlled by voice.

The demo shown at E3 saw a user searching for sites by voice and then using a smartphone – with Microsoft’s new SmartGlass app installed – to navigate the site by touch.

Microsoft made a point about the fact that all of this functionality works with consumers’ existing TVs, phones and tablets.

SmartGlass and Internet Explorer will launch on Xbox 360 this autumn.
