Minecraft by numbers

As part of the inaugural Minecon event at the weekend, developer Mojang has released a handful of impressive stats about the 4m+ selling Minecraft.

According to GameFront, the game currently attracts in the region of 241,920,000 logins every single month.

On top of this, it also welcomes 1,000 logins per hour, though following the release of the final game on Friday that increased to 4,000 logins per second.

A total of 2bn files have been downloaded by the launcher and 11,000 skin downloads are made per second.

Minecraft is riding a peak of interest and popularity right now. Not only has the PC game finally gone gold after three years on the market, but the IP has spread its wings to new platforms.

The Android release was followed by the arrival of the iOS version last week, and an Xbox Live version is due to arrive some time in 2012.
