Minecraft Pocket Edition out now for Kindle

The Pocket Edition of Minecraft has arrived for the Kindle Fire.

It runs $7, same as the iOS and Android versions, and is available to purchase now on the Amazon Appstore.

Joystiq points out persistent Kindle Fire owners had already found a way to play the game on the tablet by messing around with rooting and roundabout third-party subscriptions. Now it’s amore simple, and likely much more legal, process.

The game rolled out in alpha for specific Android devices over a year ago and became available across iOS and Android devices in late 2011. At last we heard it’s still receiving support for content updates, and has contributed over 1m sales (as of March) to Minecraft’s count across all platforms.
