Miyamoto says more 3DS remakes on the way

Shigeru Miyamoto, the lead developer at Nintendo, has said that gamers should expect more remakes of classic titles to make their way to the 3DS.

The company already has remakes of The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time and Starfox on the way, while third parties have similar plans – Konami has announced Metal Gear Solid 3 for the device and Ubisoft’s Splinter Cell was a launch title.

We spent a lot of time developing 3DS, for games for the future, so from now on I think we’ll focus more on gaming and we are releasing lots of games this year," Miyamoto told Edge.

He added that the 3DS’ eShop, which is yet to launch, could be an ideal vessel for delivering such titles.

With downloadable games via eShop we will start to create meaningful and high-value games for 3DS specifically.”
