"This partnership is an exciting opportunity to take Hutch to the next level"

Mobile publisher and developer Hutch has partnered with Formula 1 for a "worldwide, multi-year, multi-game agreement [...] following the success of their chart-topping racing portfolio". The new partnership will enable Hutch to bring licensed Formula 1 games to iOS and Android devices.

Kicking off in 2019, Hutch will work with Formula 1 to develop official FIA Formula 1 World Championship mobile games as the franchise explores "new ways to engage fans through digital media initiatives".

"Since Liberty Media’s acquisition of Formula 1, we have sought to establish partnerships that can enrich the experience of fans via innovative digital channels," said Frank Arthofer, director of digital, licensing and new business at Formula 1. "We see Hutch as a leading mobile game development and publishing partner that can enable and reinforce that initiative, ensuring we engage our expanding, passionate worldwide community of fans."

"As a studio of petrolheads, this partnership with Formula 1 is an exciting opportunity to take Hutch to the next level," added Hutch CEO Shaun Rutland. "Following a series of successful global brand partnerships, we see huge potential for mobile-first games, that will engage the Formula 1 community."

Hutch formed in 2011, and now serves an "international player base of over 200 million gamers", focussing on mobile-first, car-focused games, including Top Drives, MMX Hill Dash 2, and Hot Wheels: Race Off.

London-based mobile studio Hutch has been hiring left, right and centre since the beginning of the year. The racing game developer has also been recognised for its top-notch company culture.

"We have always set out to establish a ‘great place to work’, and that ethos was fundamental to our approach to building the team," commercial director Peter Hansen-Chambers said at the time. "We understand that our team is our biggest asset, and it is the combination of our talent, experience and shared sense of purpose that drives Hutch forward as a business."
