MoMinis confirms three educational dev webinars

The MoMinis Studio is a free development engine pitched at developers in the Flash, PC and mobile sectors.

Its GameCast competition, which has been launched in tandem with ME and GetJar, will offer $15,000 in total prizes plus a distribution deal for the winner.

As the deadline draws closer, MoMinis has arranged three webinars to address the issue of fragmentation.

Eyal Rabinovich, co-founder of MoMinis, said: "Building a mobile game is usually a long and arduous task with all the technical considerations involved such as graphics, memory capacities, input methods, and countless other components.

"In addition, there is also the issue of fragmentation in the mobile market which forces developers to make many version of their game to operate on various platforms and devices."

Here are the webinar details:

1. An Intro to The MoMinis Studio. It takes place tomorrow at 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM EDT.

This tutorial will cover the ins and outs of the game engine, explaining concepts and giving helpful tips and tricks, among other fundamental uses that developers should know when starting out with The MoMinis Studio.

2. Intermediate Level Training on The MoMinis Studio. This takes place on Wednesday, June 29th form 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM EDT.

During this session, Eyal Rabinovich, co-founder of MoMinis and co-creator of The MoMinis Studio will be demonstrating tips and tricks and best practices for the creation of various genres of mobile games, and lesson learned from the development of games that have been created with The MoMinis Studio.

3. Creating Graphics for Mobile Games, and takes place on Thursday June 30th at 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM EDT.

In this session Iris Weissman, senior graphic designer at MoMinis, will be leading a webinar about how to work with graphics for mobile games.

She will cover many aspects of graphic design for mobile games including optimisation, usage of transparency, popular genres of graphics in mobile and backgrounds.

There’s not too much time remaining for developers wishing to enter the GameCast competition.

All rough draft submissions can be sent in video format to GameCastContest@mominis.com by July 10th.

The final submission should show the completed game and the deadline for this is August 25th.
