Capcom is pulling out all the stops for the lunch, sorry that should be launch, of Monster Hunter: World. Capcom's UK team, working with PR agency Hope and Glory, is opening a free BBQ shack near London's Southbank to mark the launch of the game - conveniently placing it just around the corner from MCV's offices.
The Monster Hunter Meat Shack will be open from the 25th to the 28th of January - and looks set to trash many new year's resolutions. It will be serving 'meat platters or burgers of epic proportions, served from a humongous meat spit, all for free while [diners] play the new game' on consoles built into each table. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will also be available.
The experience is designed to mirror that of the game, where you can carve up creatures you kill for gear and sustenance. Which may explain why there's no vegetarian option available.
The Flat Iron Square venue will be themed with memorabilia from the game and there will be a giant dragon's head outside, so you can't miss it. There's a press/media preview night as well, though it's proving unsurprisingly popular already!
Laura Skelly, Senior PR Manager for Capcom added: “Going back to work in January can be a gloomy time for everyone so what better way to eat away the January blues than a free dining experience which celebrates all things monster-sized? From the giant Rathalos head, to the super-sized meat platters, we hope the Monster Hunter Meat Shack is a hit with fans of the game both new and old immersing all its guests deep into the world of Monster Hunter.”
