New Australian event series celebrates retro gaming

The Oxford Art Factory in Sydney is set to play host to a series of events named Insert Coin(s), which are themed around old-school videogame arcades.

Pat Kolan (former IGN entertainment editor) and Mark Gerber (Oxford Art Factory founder) have teamed up on the venture, which promises retro gaming installations, live music, DJs and videogame art and culture themes for a small door fee.

Kolan said: "We’re all geeks at heart – whether you’re passionate about gaming, music or art. Insert Coin(s) brings all of these loves together. We’re going to transform the Oxford Art Factory into a classic arcade, complete with tons of gaming and pinball machines."

The series will also play host to modern gaming favourites and give gamers the chance to preview upcoming games from leading Australian publishers.

The first Insert Coin(s) will be the launch party, held at the venue on 8th September.
