New games merchandise company opens

Gaming Merchandise UK Ltd is now open for business.

The company has been set up by industry veteran Luiz Ferreira, who has closed his previous business – accessories and merchandise firm White Room Games – to concentrate on the new venture.

Gaming Merchandise UK will be dedicated to bringing games-branded apparel, toys and other assorted products to retail.

It has already signed the distribution rights for Gaya Entertainment’s catalogue, and now offers products based on the Half-Life, Dota and Temple Run series.

We see the merchandise category growing over the next few years, particularly given that the next generation of consoles will deliver a higher percentage of digital sales than previous generations,” Ferreira told MCV.

More publishers are considering merchandise earlier in the development of franchises.”
