The rumours were true – Warner Bros Interactive has officially confirmed that a new Mortal Kombat game will be released on Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2011.
Developed by NetherRealm Studios (the current name of long-term series' producers Midway Chicago) under the leadership of MK creator Ed Boon, the game follows in the footsteps of Street Fighter IV in offering 3D graphics and 2D gameplay.
Fatalities of course make a return as well as a number of new gameplay features including tag team fighting and the deepest story mode of any fighting game”. A co-op arcade mode and online fighting is also supported.
