Nintendo 3DS XL is out tomorrow: Where’s cheapest?

With a 90 per cent bigger screen, more grown-up design and refined controls, 3DS XL is an attractive new device. But who has the best deal?

GAME has a trade-in deal running, where you can hand over your old 3DS and buy the new machine for just 79.99 – that’s a 100 saving on the RRP.

GAMESTOP.CO.UK has a similar deal, with the price you pay being 79.97. GameStop will also sell you a 3DS XL for 119.97 when a DSi XL traded-in, 127.97 with a DSi and 137.97 with a DS Lite.

If you’re not trading anything it, GameStop is charging 169.97.

Online retailers THE HUT and ZAVVI (both operated by The Hut Group) have gone slightly lower than that, at 167.95.

GRAINGER GAMES, meanwhile, is going for 168.99.

If you’re not trading in your old 3DS at GAME and GAMESTATION then the price is 174.99, although there are a number of 199 bundles too. It’s also 174.99 at PLAY.COM and AMAZON.CO.UK, while TESCO is a penny higher, at 175.

So really the choice there will come down to trade-ins, reward points and service preferences.

Meanwhile, TOYS R US has it for 177.97 and SHOPTO.NET, VERY, BASE and BLOCKBUSTER has it for 179.86.

Lastly, HMV and SAINSBURY’S are dead-on RRP, at 179.99
