The noises in the run up to launch from some indies may have been negative, but Nintendo has named a massive selection of indie games on the way to its new console.
Third party support for Nintendo's machines has been a point of contention for some time, but over 60 games were confirmed for Switch yesterday – and there are plenty of big hitters among them.
Leading the pack are Playtonic's retro platformer Yooka-Laylee, multiplayer hit Overcooked, farming sensation Stardew Valley and the popular Steamworld Dig 2. Also name-dropped were rhythm action outing Thumper, Shovel Knight and Rogue Trooper Redux.
Some, such as Overcooked, will see Switch-specific additions – in this instance, HD rumble integration for the Joy Con controllers. Stardew Valley will also have a new multiplayer mode.
Lots of these are due for release over the spring and summer, with Nintendo promising new releases every week once the eShop finally goes live.
Nintendo Switch launches this Friday (March 3rd).
Here's some of the games named so far:
Overcooked Special Edition
The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth
Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment
Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove
The Escapists 2
Steamworld Dig 2
Rogue Trooper Redux
Kingdom Two Crowns
Blaster Master Zero
