Wii's hardcore gaming credentials have taken another knock with the news that one of its leading mature brands is unlikely to appear again on the system.
No More Heroes, a title from Goichi Suda's Grasshopper Manufacture, is one of the leading hardcore titles on the system and a sequel is currently in development.
However, Suda 51 told Edge: I really want to make No More Heroes a big franchise and with this second episode have bigger success. I'm putting a lot of care into developing this IP, as I feel there's a lot of potential.
I think this is the last No More Heroes that is going to be developed on Wii. To expand it to new possibilities, we need a new platform. Wii is a great platform, but we've done everything we can with it now.”
A title such as No More Heroes immediately seems like a good fit for Xbox 360's userbase, though the Japanese credentials of PS3 could be more appealing to its developers.
