Obsidian's Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire will launch this April.

The sequel to RPG hit Pillars of Eternity will hit shelves on April 3rd, developer Obsidian revealed yesterday.

Pre-orders for Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire are now open, with different editions available to players. Fans who pre-order the game (regardless of the edition) will receive three in-game digital items (St. Drogga's Skull, Beakhead the Hawk and The Black Flag).

The standard edition will set consumers back $49.99, both digitally and physically. There’s a digital-only Deluxe Edition featuring the title’s official soundtrack (composed by Justin Bell), in-game items, a digital starter guide, a high-res game map and Dark Horse’s Volume II of the digital guide book. It will cost $59.99.

There’s also an Obsidian Edition setting consumers back $74.99. Digitally, it includes everything from the Deluxe one, plus the three DLC expansions for Pillars II (which, individually, cost $9.99). The physical version of the Obsidian Edition will launch at $79.99 and include the same digital content, plus a cloth map, a notepad and a set of postcards:

Obsidian Entertainment CEO Feargus Urquhart commented: “Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is our first sequel here at Obsidian and we’ve created something incredible. At Obsidian, we are all about stories, worlds, and characters, and in Deadfire we’ve done it again with a vast open world explorable by the player’s own customizable ship, character customization with enough options to make any RPG player want to make a hundred characters, and an exciting narrative that truly delivers on the reactivity that makes our games special. We’re confident that new and returning players will find Deadfire to be the RPG experience of the year.”

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire was announced in January 2017 and successfully crowdfunded on Fig in less than 23h. Versus Evil was announced as the publishing partner in September 2017, with THQ Nordic handling the physical distribution.
