Oculus debuts first in-house film at Sundance

Oculus VR's Story Studio has debuted its first film – an animated short dubbed Lost” – at the Sundance Film Festival this week.

Variety reports on the film, which was developed specifically for a virtual 360-degree environment. It is intended to unfold in about five minutes,” in which the viewer can move freely and pause the action.

Oculus's in-house film production studio is part of the virtual reality firm's specialist division and led by Pixar veterans, such as former Pixar cinematographer Saschka Unseld and technical director Maxwell Planck.

Story Studio has several other projects in development, including three works intended to be content for the consumer version of the Oculus Rift – which currently carries a release target of 2015.
